Visit one — Consultation and planning:

Visit two — Tooth preparation and temporaries:
We remove a thin layer of enamel from the front of each tooth — typically less than a millimeter. This creates space for the veneer to sit flush with surrounding teeth. We take impressions and send them to a dental lab where your custom porcelain shells are fabricated. You leave with temporary veneers in place while the lab works.
Visit three — Final placement and bonding:
When your permanent veneers arrive from the lab, we check the fit and shade before bonding anything. Once you approve the look, we bond each veneer to the tooth surface with dental adhesive and set it with a curing light. We check your bite and make any minor adjustments before you leave.
The full process is completed at our Des Plaines office. Lab fabrication happens between visits two and three, which typically takes one to two weeks.
Most patients adjust to the feel of their veneers within a few days. The shape and thickness are slightly different from your natural teeth, and your tongue will notice before your brain stops registering it. That settles quickly.
